Call of freedom
Walking, fishing and just enjoying nature. For most people this is a given. But Werner rarely leaves the house. He can’t walk as well as he used to and uses a walking stick, which means he can’t cover as much distance. He gazes wistfully out of the window and looks at photos from his more mobile days.
Just then, his wife comes through the door – with the solution in her hands: an Allround Rollator in Forest Green. She had sought advice on which rollator would best suit her husband and his desire to spend time in the mountains, woods and lakes.
Werner is sceptical at first. A rollator? For him? But to please his wife, he gives the “strange device” a try. And what’s this? The rollator is light. Easy to steer. It has comfortable grips. A bag for his binoculars and camera. And then there’s the colour – just like his favourite forest!
Now, Werner is fired up and eager to head out into nature. He grabs his hiking boots from the shelf, they pack a snack, binoculars, and a camera, and off they go to their favorite lake. “That’s where we had our first date…” Werner reminisces.
Upon arriving at their destination, the lightweight rollator is quickly lifted out of the boot, and Werner takes his first steps.
He tests the rollator: its large front wheels glide effortlessly over the forest floor, and he can safely manoeuvre it on the gravel path and even through the grass. The soft handles feel comfortable in Werner’s hands.
Sabine is delighted – she sees the sparkle in her husband’s eyes. Werner is back to his old self, enjoying the walk in the beloved countryside and joking about what name he should give his new companion.
Then it becomes too tiring for Werner – he sits down on the seat net and leans against the back belt. The short break does them both good; they reminisce about romantic memories and savour their newfound freedom.
Werner now has grand plans – he wants to walk the beautiful trail again and enjoy the view of the city. He wants to visit the horses with Sabine again. He wants to LIVE again.
