Pure pleasure
Werner is sitting at the dining table, examining the labels of the wine bottles his son brought back from his last trip to Italy. Which one will he open for his birthday today? He nostalgically remembers his last visit to a winery and the fascinating tour he had. How he would love to experience that again – yet the mere thought of a walk through the hilly vineyards makes him dizzy with exertion.
Then his friend Mike comes by, holding a small cake with a candle and a balloon, cheerfully exclaiming, “Surprise! Happy Birthday! Come on, let’s go on a trip – a wine tasting!” For a brief moment, excitement lights up in Werner’s eyes, but reality quickly sets back in. “I can’t, it’s too strenuous for me. Come, sit down and we’ll do our own wine tasting instead…” But Mike is persistent. He teases Werner with the hint that a very special “companion” is waiting for him outside, eventually coaxing him to step out.
Werner’s curiosity is piqued. What could Mike possibly mean? Mike opens the boot of the car, revealing a rollator that he easily lifts out and unfolds. “Look, it has great brakes, and you can sit on it too! Doesn’t it look fantastic? In ‘wine colour,’ Barolo Red!” Mike enthusiastically explains. Werner is caught up in the excitement and, although still a bit sceptical, he now looks forward to the trip – it almost feels like old times!
Upon arriving at the vineyard, both are thrilled. First, a stroll through the vineyards! It’s working out perfectly! Werner easily manoeuvres the agile rollator through the grass. He looks at the vines and enjoys the view. Sitting down, he soaks up the surroundings to the fullest. Oh, how wonderful it is! Finally, this is possible again.
Then they head into the pleasantly cool wine cellar. Like a pro, Werner navigates the rollator through the aisles between the wine barrels. He loves the aroma, the tranquillity, and the atmosphere. And of course, a sip from the large cask is a must!
Mike has another surprise: outside, their partners are waiting for the wine enthusiasts, and they all enjoy tasting the finest wine that connoisseur Werner has selected. Naturally, a few bottles of wine are packed into the boot alongside the rollator. Werner knows he no longer has to complain about his health. He can once again do what he loves. Thanks to his friend Mike and the rollator!
